Why Is Priyanka Heavily Bruised?

When Priyanka Chopra turned up to greet the media at the Dil Dhadakne Do brunch yesterday, one couldn’t help but notice the bruises on her slender arms and cuts on her wrists. One was left wondering if the actress was in some kind of trouble.

Of course, she was quick to explain the marks. It's Sanjay Leela Bhansalis Bajirao Mastani thats inflicting these injuries on her.

“I am wearing real and jadau gold jewellery as the wife of Peshwa Bajirao. I had to wear heavy kadas too, so all the finery has left me with these purple marks,” she exclaimed.

The actress elaborated that as much as she enjoys being a part of the film along with Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone, shooting for the much talked about face-off dance number with Deepika has been a task. Shooting in 9-yard real chanderi sarees with heavy zari embellishments are regal but surely difficult when it comes to dancing, she said.

Priyanka's counterpart in Bhansali's film, Deepika, had a rather hard time filming the dance sequence (SpotboyE.com, April 25). The Om Shanti Om actress  couldnt get the steps right and required as many as 48 retakes for a particular step. On the other hand, Priyanka had picked up the steps in no time and danced like a pro.

When asked about this, Priyanka jumped to Deepikas defense. No, in fact, Deepika has emerged much stronger as a dancer. We all thought she is delicate but she has more strength then we imagined. She danced her way through the song and look at me, I am left with these bruised arms and feet, she laughed.

Priyanka, who plays Kashibai in the love saga, also added that it was she who got those ballerina shoes for Deepika and herself, to help them during the difficult dance steps. As luck would have it, the ballerinas were too soft to save the two from blisters.
